Midway Alignment - Botnia Atlantica II (MABA II)

The aim of the MABA II project was to facilitate cross-border infrastructure investments in the BA region by producing background materials for the said purpose.

The project worked with the following measures: Investigation of Kvarkenhamnar's TEN-T status and Core connections, implementation of current state analyzes and surveys of existing resources, including production of cross-border port statistics, execution of in-depth impact analyses, follow-up and in-depth analysis of regional and national development effects of a new ferry and reinforced connection across the Kvarken, analysis of final ferry design, planning and procurement documents for the port and terminal areas as well as the new ferry, investigation of various financing alternatives, dissemination of knowledge and information, participation in seminars and fairs, as well as meetings with relevant authorities at EU and national level. The activities were carried out in collaboration with the project's partners and in close collaboration with the region's authorities and businesses.
