CyberGrass - Introduction to remote sensing and artificial intelligence assisted silage production
This project demonstrated a novel method for grass quality and quantity estimation based on UAVs and satellites. The group has validated the methods in laboratory and test field conditions. Now it will be transferred to real production fields.
The project develops a new method for calculating the yield and quality of roughage before harvest, by using data from remote sensing and applying models for pasture growth. The project aims to develop a new and comprehensive method that will be included in the range of digital services used by advisory organizations and agricultural companies. In this way, the new method will provide important information for decision-making in agricultural holdings. The method will thus help to improve the profitability of milk and meat production in the Interreg Botnia Atlantica region.
