The project is to implements innovative solutions for the production of micro- and macroalgae biomass from waste streams at industrial scale. Since algae absorb both carbon dioxide and nutrients, they impact environment and climate in a positive way.

The goal of the project is to implement innovative solutions for the production of micro- and macroalgae biomass from waste streams at industrial scale. The project aims to create a network of relevant stakeholders within the algae industry in the Botnia-Atlantica region. The target group is medium-sized and small enterprises such as wastewater treatment plants, biogas producers, dairies, power plants and pulp and paper industries. To reach the goal the project will also develop a cost and energy efficient scalable cultivation system and methods for transforming algal biomass for energy production and high value products.
